The boys soccer players were excited and very motivated for this year’s soccer season. Many players were prepared and had been working hard to be ready for the season. They had a lot of hopes and dreams to accomplish this year compared to last year’s season.

Bonito Ndayishimiye

  • What off season work did you do to prepare for the season?

I would condition every day and lifted weights.

  • Do you think it helped?

Yes, I’m prepared for the season. Getting in shape is key.

  • How do you think the season is going so far?

We had our first scrimmage against Winterset. Our victory against them shows promising results for future games we are going to play.

  • Have you found the new coach as an improvement for the program or not?

New coach is incredible, and with organized plans and how our team is structured, brings hope into the program.

  • What are you looking forward to happen this season compared to last season?

As a senior I’m really looking forward to see the program take big steps. We can improve on our winning streak, and if possible make it to state.

  • What off season work did you do to prepare for the season?

I ran a lot of track.

  • Do you think it helped?

Hell yea! It made me faster and I actually liked it. I can run for a lot longer now.

  • How do you think the season is going so far?

So far so good, I have a feeling we’re going to make it to state!

  • Have you found the new coach as an improvement for the program or not?

Yes because he’s doing stuff the last coach never did. He improves every player individually, and as a team.

  • What are you looking forward on happening this season compared to last season?

Win more games, win conference, and make it to state!

 

Richard Hacimana

  • What off season work did you do to prepare for the season?

I ran every day, and played off season for Sporting Iowa.

  • Do you think it helped?

Yes because it made tougher and ready for the season.

  • How do you think the season is going so far?

Going good, winning our first game made us believe we can win many more games.

  • Have you found the new coach as an improvement for the program or not?

Yes because he’s a cool coach and he believes in each and every one of us. He believes we’ll make it far this season even though we didn’t last year.

6)   What are you looking forward to happen this season compared to last season?

Winning Conference and going to state. I just want to put my team on the map!

 

Sebastian Garay

  • What off season work did you do to prepare for the season?

I played for Sporting Iowa and ran every day I could.

  • Do you think it helped?

Yes because I feel much faster and better conditioned.

  • How do you think the season is going so far?

Good because we beat Winterset 4-1 in our first scrimmage.

  • Have you found the new coach as an improvement for the program or not?

Yes because he’s a serious about winning and being successful.

6)   What are you looking forward to happen this season compared to last season?

First we want to win conference, and then make it to state and maybe even win it all!
