The Girls basketball team is ready to roll this season. They have been working hard and putting in a lot of and effort to improve. They are going through the rebuilding process as they finished the season 3-19. This season the huskies are led by senior guard Hannah Blackford who knows what the team is capable of and the things they can improve. They have players who are looking to get after it and compete.

“Although we may not have all the talent we are playing hard and fast to make up for it,” Blackford said.

The huskies are putting in a lot of work in the gym during and after practice. Learning plays and conditioning so they’re able to keep up with every opposing team that they play. Their goal is be fast and physical. They have a lot of speed and power on the team between Blackford, junior forward Mabel Kouh and junior forward Lorrelle dean. Kouh’s amazing speed helps her keep up with defenders and be able to break away and draw fouls on the offensive end.

“We have more speed and people who can get the rebounds. We run plays well and we trust each other more from playing with each other from the last few years,” Kouh said.

The girls all have positive thoughts about their team and record. They are going to work hard and make sure they leave it all out on the court and push everyone to get better every day.

“Our season will be better, we may not necessarily have a winning record but you will see the difference on how we play together and for each other,” said Blackford.

Playing fast and physical will be the huskies game. They are looking to be able to compete at a high level and compete with everyone.
