The basketball team is looking to make a big step in making it to the state championship and winning but it will be a tough task after losing key role player last year. Seniors Douglas Wilson and Aldreias Campbell are looking to lead the charge in helping the team roll right into the State finals. They both have the same views of wining as many games as possible to making it to the state championship and win a state title for their school.

Campbell is looking to help his team as much as possible and make his goal come true. To help make his goal come true in the season, he’s been working on his jump shot, finishing in traffic and passing the ball. He believes that after losing key players they still have their big man and key guards that will help get the job done. Campbell help the team last year by hitting big shots when it mattered in very critical close games.  With one very tough game in Minnesota on the Huskies schedule Campbell says “we have to stay mentally and physically tough to get the job done. That’s going to be a tough game for us but we have to practice hard and listen to coach to get the job done.”

Wilson is looking to get his goals complete doing everything he can possible to help his team. He also wants to be “Mr. Basketball.” For this team to get to where they needed to be, he made sure they worked hard in the offseason and he made sure he was seriously on their back. In the off season he was in the gym working out every day and getting in his shot to be the best that he can be. Wilson helped his team last year by being a rebounder and a leader. Wilson says his teams toughest challenge will be “leading and taking bigger steps to help each other improve and having to play without key injured players.”

The basketball team had a great season last year after finishing the season 21-2 and making it the state class 4A championship. They are looking to get some of the same results for their season but with   finishing the season with a state championship. One of the key things they have is their defense. It’s very important to their team and it’s a big point of how they play. They are ranked first in class 4A in points scored vs points allowed.
